ICE CORE DATA

Ice core analyses provide data on temperatures (oxygen isotope analysis results) and atmospheric composition over the past 160,000 years.

Data is available form three cores: GRIP (Greenland Ice Core Project), Quelaccaya (Peru), and Vostok (Antarctic). When you access the web site: 1. Choose the core from which you want data. 2. Then select the data set you want (carbon dioxide, oxygen-18, temperatures, methane -- Vostok is the most comprehensive site). 3. Having got to the data set, click on the line graph symbol at the top of the page to plot the data.
