These three diagrams show the effects of the storm and the cold wave over much of the central and eastern US -- Indianapolis, Nashville, and San Antonio. Note the temperature drop in each case.
In the first plot, the cyclonic storm passed over
Indianapolis. The warm front hits at 1500Z -- note sharp wind veer and
acceleration of daily temp rise. Temps hold
steady until cold front hits at 00Z -- again a sharp wind veer at this time
accompanies a dramatic drop in temps.

Here in Nashville (below) we have almost exactly the same story as Indianapolis (above).
In San Antonio the cold wave (cold front) hits at 22Z, accompanied by temp
drop, pressure rise and winds from north.
