TEST PREPARATION AND OTHER TESTING ISSUES
Activity or action: Y/N
1. I gather up my assignments, readings and notes and go over them for the first time a day or two before the test.
2. I know exactly what kinds of questions will be on the test.
3. I study the same way regardless of what kind of questions (essays, multiple choice, T/F) will be on the test.
4. Studying for a test usually means I have to cut classes or let other assignments slide while I do it.
5. When I study for essay exams I try to map out the general concepts and ideas (not just memorize facts).
6. I test my understanding with practice questions I make up or obtain from the prof. or from old exams.
7. I begin planning for, and reviewing for the test several days or a week or so before the test.
8. When formulas are involved, I memorize them even if I don't understand them.
9. I know exactly what material will be covered on the test.
10. I usually have a late night study session the night before the test.
11. I know how to study for, and answer multiple-choice (or essay or true-false or short-answer or computation) exams.
12. I start the test by carefully reading the directions.
13. I always start with the first question and work my way through the questions in order.
14. I often find myself pushed for time towards the end of an exam.
15. After an exam I often realize I made mistakes on stuff I knew but I didn't read the question or missed something out I knew.
16. If I get stuck on one question I skip it and try to get back to it later.
17. I often feel panicky and out of control as I go into a test.
18. I leave as soon as I finish the last question.
19. When I get the exam back I check the prof.'s graded and added it all up correctly and then that's that!
