Scholarships are monetary gifts from community, private and campus sources and are usually based on academic merit or some other criteria. Some scholarships require verification of financial need. Repayment of scholarships is not required when student meets requirements of the scholarship.
The UWMC Foundation annually awards scholarships to incoming, continuing or transferring students. There are many scholarships and awards that are available to students at UWMC. Recipients are recognized at an awards program in May of each year.
Click here for Scholarship & Awards descriptions and eligibility information. A student must meet all of the eligibility criteria for an award to be eligible for that award.
Applications are available in January, and may be submitted until March 1 of each year. There is one application for all scholarships (see exceptions below).
All applications for 2013-2014 must be submitted by 4:30 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013.
These scholarships come from outside sources (e.g. private or community source), and do not credit the student’s account through PRISM. When a check is sent to campus, the staff reports the scholarship to the financial aid office. These scholarships may also be reported by students on the back side of their financial aid award offer letter. Click here for more information.
