Research on the benefits of language learning

Learn about the language and culture of Chinese, French, Spanish, German or Hindi
speaking countries. Experience family life, customs, history, food and the arts of various cultures that speak your chosen language.

Spend the morning immersed in your foreign language while you play and learn on the UWMC campus and nearby Marathon Park.

Los Hispanohablantes (the Spanish unit) - The Hispanohablantes will learn Spanish the easy way by playing games, singing songs, chanting, and performing role plays while "traveling" to the countries of the Spanish speaking world. While there, we'll learn about the local customs and spectacular sights, and treat ourselves to the tempting ethnic foods. Come join the fun and learn Spanish in an active, lively setting! ˇVen conmigo! Come with me!

Les Jeunes Francophones (the French unit) - Why learn French? French is spoken by billions ofpeople spread over all the continents. At UWMC's French immersion camp you can learn French in French! Being immersed in the language is the key to learning it. At the camp you will learn "ready to use" vocabulary and phrases that you will be able to use tout de suite! Through crafts, games, and songs you can have fun learning French. Go on a scavenger hunt, play in le Coup du Monde, eat Nutella!

Zhongguo Cun (the Chinese unit) Take a “trip” to China to explore language and culture through
games, songs, crafts and food. Learn Mandarin, the official language of mainland China.

Gurukul (Indian/Hindi unit) Namaste. Namaste. Aap kaise hain? (How are you?) Welcome to our
“Indian National Language” Hindi unit, where you will learn commonly spoken Indian words and
phrases, numbers, greetings, geography, famous monuments, fascinating culture and festivals. You will also learn the most popular Indian sport of cricket and some yoga for conscious relaxation.

Deutsche Schuler (the German unit) Wir singen, wir tanzen, wir spielen! Have fun learning to
speak German while singing, dancing, and playing games!
