Academic Standing
You are expected to maintain certain standards of academic achievement in your work at UWMC. This is measured by both semester and cumulative Grade Point Averages (GPA). See UWC Course Catalog for more information.
Grade Point Requirements See UWC Course Catalog for more information.
Dean’s List UWMC publishes a Dean's List to honor students with high GPAs. See UWC Course Catalog for more information.
Grading System Semester grades are recorded by letter only (e.g., A, A-, B+). Each letter grade equals a certain number of grade points per credit. See UWC Course Catalog for more information.
Incompletes See UWC Course Catalog for more information.
Final Grades Final grades must be reported by your instructor within four working days after the final exam. A final grade report will be available on PRISM at the end of the semester and/or summer session. Final grades will not be mailed. Notification of any probationary or suspension action will be on your academic transcript.
Suspension Status The first suspension status results in a suspension from the UW Colleges for one semester. A subsequent suspension will result in a suspension from the UW Colleges for two semesters. Suspended students who wish to enroll in summer or winterim coursework may do so by consulting with student services. You may appeal a suspension to the Academic Action Committee. All appeals include a meeting before the Committee, a clear explanation of problems causing your inadequate achievement and how you propose to resolve those problems. If you are allowed to continue, you will be on final probation and may be subject to other conditions. See UWC Course Catalog for more information.
