Earn a UW Oshkosh or UW Stevens Point Bachelor’s Degree at UWMC
Residents of Central Wisconsin have the opportunity to earn four University of
Wisconsin Bachelor’s degrees right here in Wausau, by attending classes offered
at UWMC. The degrees offered are:
-- Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration through the University of WIsconsin-Stevens Point
-- Bachelor
of Science or a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies through the University of WIsconsin-Stevens Point
-- Bachelor of Science in Nursing completion degree through the University
of Wisconsin Oshkosh
All of the programs offer convenient nighttime classes for working students. The
curriculum is taught by faculty through a combination of face-to-face meetings,
distance education classes, and on-line computer courses. On-campus academic
advising and access to local support services, such as library resources and
computer laboratories are important benefits of the programs. Local advisors are
Pat Kasten, Business Administration;
Lori Brandt, American Studies; and Deborah Allar, Nursing degree.
The UWSP Business Administration
major combines courses form the areas of business administration, economics, and
accounting to provide students with a strong foundation of business skills.
Faculty work with students to help build functional knowledge in each student’s
area of interest and expertise, and skills in adaptability and teamwork that

Students interested in a wide variety of professional fields can take advantage
of the UWSP American Studies major. This interdisciplinary, liberal
arts-based major provides students with a solid foundation of problem solving
skills, written and oral communication skills as well as the critical thinking
skills necessary for employment in a wide variety of occupational fields.
Courses from nearly 20 different fields of study are offered. Students are able
to choose from two tracts of focus; business or social sciences and liberal

Registered Nurses can complete a UW-Oshkosh Nursing bachelor’s degree at
UWMC. Nurses holding an Associate degree and RNs holding a diploma in nursing
from a three-year nursing program are eligible for up to 60 pre-earned credits.

All programs utilize UWMC course offerings to help students meet their
general education requirements while delivering needed upper level course work
from the respective four-year colleges on the UWMC campus.
